Singapore

From HK we headed to Singapore for a few days before moving on to Australia.

We found Singapore a real mixture of cultures with the Asian equally balanced with a real Colonial feel. The different quarters of the city each showing their own influences - Chinatown, Little India and the Colonial area near Raffles hotel.

The city is spotless which gives parts of it a bit of a sterile feel - while others feel bustling and overwhelming. Steve was a hit - we arrived on a public holiday with all the locals out by the river, when a girl asked Steve for a photo, he was slightly confused when it appeared he was the star attraction not the photographer.

We were also able to meet up with a couple of friends - Lood and Helen who had recently had twins, Benjamin and Emily.

I think 4 days is enough in Singapore - we covered all of the main sights and still had half a day to spare.
