Coromandel Peninsula - Cathedral Cove

Just a couple of hours out of Auckland, The Coromandel is a beautiful region, with one of the natural highlights being Cathedral Cove. Steve was the only person swimming, the fact his hands were frozen for the next 30minutes seems to have escaped his attention.

There was aso Hot Water Beach, where a natural hot water spring just under the sand means you can dig a shallow pit near the water line and sit in your own thermal pool. Had great visions of doing this with a bottle of wine, but hadn't counted on there being another 150 people digging their holes as well - kind of spoilt the moment!
