Melbourne to Cairns (not wasting a moment)

We landed from Singapore after a nasty start - where one of the aeroplane's engines caught fire (luckily before take-off) which was quite a spectacle with the fire-engine escort back to the stand.

Melbourne was absolutely freezing - out came the fleeces for the first time since the Rockies - not what I was expecting of an Aussie summer. We had a couple of hours in the city before heading to the much warmer climes of Cairns.
