Queenstown to Wanaka to the Glaciers

After Queenstown we headed to Wanaka for the evening and sampled our first Monteiths beer. There was much reason to celebrate as my brother Mike and Heidi got married on Friday the 16th of March in Langebaan in South Africa.

From Wanaka we drove to Glacier country and saw the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers. The glaciers are particularly spectacular as they are surrounded by rain forests. Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there so we didn’t get to do a heli-hike which was one of the main excursions we had planned.

The 17th of March was also a great day as Lance and Sue got married in the midlands in South Africa.
