Mount Taranaki

We headed down the east coast of North Island and had some great stops along the way. From Wellington we specifically drove up the west coast to see Mount Taranaki which was used as a double for Mt Fuji in the Last Samurai.

The picture below is of the forgotten highway between Taranaki and Turangi. The word highway is deceptive as you can only go about 30km/h as the road is so narrow and windy.
