The Big Red - disaster? To be or not to be?

As we are due to be in Australia for over 2 months we thought it best to buy a car in Cairns and sell it again in Sydney. We spent a couple of days trawling though the classified ads and then visiting the 'honest' used car dealers.

After much deliberation and virtually no choice we settled on 'The Big Red', I managed to bargain the price down and fortunately get a 1 year warranty included in the price.

We bought the car on Friday, broke down on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday. The worst breakdown resulted in us getting towed about 50km. We broke down in the middle of no where at the Frosty Mango where I insisted on stopping for their legendary smoothies.

Now with a new battery, new alternator, new radiator cap and an inspired owner things seem to be going well
