Cape Tribulation and the Rainforest

After picking up 'The Big Red' we headed north to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforests. What an amazing change in vegetation and climate from Cairns only a couple of hundred km's south. The forests, rivers and beaches were amazing.

We stayed in a little cabin right in the middle of the rainforest which was really cool until they had a power cut which lasted for 4 hours. Fortunately our pasta was half cooked so we managed to eat some and then head to the bar to console ourselves with a couple of romantic candle lit beers.

Although the beaches look like paradise, the problems are salt water crocodiles and jelly fish stingers which last all summer. At the beach we were on a croc was sighted only a few days before so we were keeping a close watch - as you can see Em was not keen to get her feet wet.
